DOCOMO PACIFIC - First to launch VoLTE across Marianas.

TAMUNING, GUAM (August 15, 2019) – DOCOMO PACIFIC, leader in innovation and communication technology officially launches VoLTE, bringing crisper, clearer voice calls to Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.

Roderick Boss, President & CEO DOCOMO PACIFIC says, “This is an exciting day for us. The launch of VoLTE marks another milestone on our journey to 5G and we’re happy to extend this new service to our DOCOMO PACIFIC customers at no extra charge.” 

VoLTE or Voice over Long-Term Evolution allows customers to place and receive voice calls over an LTE connection instead of the traditional voice network, resulting in high-definition (HD) Voice services providing clearer audio quality. DOCOMO PACIFIC customers with VoLTE enabled  devices  can enjoy enhanced calling features on the DOCOMO PACIFIC LTE network:

·       High quality, more natural sounding voice calls

·       Improved handset battery life – VoLTE eliminates switching between networks

·       Quick call connection

·       Increased VoIP (Voice over internet protocol) functionality

“While text-based messaging platforms continue to grow as the most frequently used form of mobile communication, they will never replace voice calls, which are highly personal and interactive. There’s a level of trust that is established through voice calls that you just can’t replicate through email or text.  Through VoLTE, the voice at the other end is crystal clear and natural.  It’s the closest thing to being there. The DOCOMO PACIFIC network in Guam and The Marianas is fully VoLTE capable.  The commercial rollout will begin with DOCOMO PACIFIC customers who currently own Samsung Note 9 handsets.  Calls between Samsung Note 9 owners on the DOCOMO PACIFIC LTE network are VoLTE ready as of today.
