Update from DOCOMO PACIFIC in the wake of Super Typhoon Yutu

TAMUNING, GUAM (October 25, 2018) – In the wake of Super Typhoon Yutu, which left a trail of destruction across Saipan, Tinian and Rota, DOCOMO PACIFIC provided an update on the impact to its people and operations.

“Our early information is that the windspeeds in this storm exceeded Typhoon Soudelor in 2015. We are now receiving the first assessments of damage in CNMI and what we've seen this morning shows extensive damage.” - Thomas Higa, Chief Commercial Officer, DOCOMO PACIFIC.

DOCOMO PACIFIC’S mobile network in Saipan remained operational throughout the storm, although individual sites went down primarily due to power. Generators from Guam are being deployed.

"We spent the early morning determining the safety of our teams in the CNMI. And we are relieved that our associates have been accounted for and that we have had no reports of injuries. Our CNMI field teams are now working hard to assess and quickly restore services for the community.” - Roderick Boss, President & CEO, DOCOMO PACIFIC.
